MAGICAL MELODIES

MISSION STATEMENT

The therapeutic properties that a simple melody can carry has proven to spark joy and remembrance of core memories from deep within. Magical Melodies is designed to bring Professional Entertainers and their love of service in the arts to the benefit of seniors, disabled and shut-in individuals, the unhoused as well as mentally and terminally ill patients of all ages in order to enrich their lives with music through the integration of live performance.

SESSIONS

Magical Melodies offers 2 different live performance program sessions:

SONG & DANCE Program

INSTRUMENTAL Program

Each program has a menu of curated shows to select from, but each show can also be customized according to the needs of the facility. Shows will be 45 minutes in length and at the culmination of each show there will be a 15 minute meet & greet period in order for the performers to engage and build community while creating a bridge of friendship with each facility and its inhabitants.

COMMUNITY CHORAL Program

Another offering that is different from the performance sessions is the community choral program for seniors. A Choral Teaching Artist and a Collaborative Pianist will meet participants at each facility for 1 hour, 1 day a week for a ten-week time period. During this ten-week session, residents or participants of the facility will learn a group medley of songs based on a menu of options or a customized theme per facility request.

MUSIC IS MAGICAL!

These experiences provides opportunities for seniors to have a therapeutic experience with music in a group setting promoting socialization and communication. Singing, playing with instruments and physicalizing rhythms will present an enormous variety of activities, inclusivity and emotional support amongst peers. At the end of the 10 week session the group will perform their medley for loved ones and community members within the facility.
